This company has great pay and benefits, and it’s great starting experience as a PCP or ACP for flights or ambulance. However, higher up management does not care about you at all, even though they promote how much they cherish their employees. You always have to fight to get the proper equipment you need to do your job, even at the minimum level. You have to get on managements cases to get literally anything done. Co-workers are great and the environment itself is pretty good, but the management is an issue.

Good pay, full-time benefits, good coworkers, good experience, great direct supervisors

Cons

Take advantage of you, they don’t pay overtime, long hours

Juice not worth the Squeeze

Advanced Care Paramedic (Former Employee) - Fox Lake, AB - 30 October 2022

Speaking to their Indigenous Services contract, in Fox Lake Alberta, Advanced Care Paramedic position. Basically, this is a toxic environment, that has the potential to affect your personal mental wellbeing, as well as your own professional license. Poor Team Lead leadership, favoritism, and not hiring quality staff. Good place if you have no experience to work, bad place if you are an experienced paramedic, working with inexperienced PCP and new nursing staff, that can put your professional license, and patients at risk. Team leads do not work the night shift, you will be staffed alone, with inexperienced staff, that changes every few months, to treat multiple patients in clinic alone, while at the same time answering home ambulance calls, be ready to be 5 places at once. No support or understanding from Team Leads because they will not work the night shift. If you potentially drop the ball on anything, it may end up on the news which has happened here before. No support, no leadership, poor inexperienced staff, because they cannot find staff, a juice not worth the squeeze. Work anywhere else as an ACP for the same pay, without the professional liability.

An enthusiastic, compassionate and empathetic organization that really does put employees first. Management / coworkers are supportive and knowledgeable; it’s more of a family than an organization. Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Good employer

Advanced Care Paramedic (Current Employee) - Northern Alberta - 13 May 2020

Good employer. Different opportunities available. Flight division is the best I have seen in Canada. Lots of smart colleagues with years of experience and willingness to teach. One downside, It is a private company, expect less than union benefits, small pension.

Air ambulance position

Paramedic- Air ambulance setting (Current Employee) - High Level, AB - 11 January 2020

Two year old equipment including King air 250 planes. Average one call per day. Shifts are 24 hours on call two weeks on two weeks off. Pay is competitive. Draw back position is in High Level
