Journeyman Plumber/sales (Former Employee) - Calgary, AB - 5 March 2021
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedThey promise really good wages but in reality you “success” depends entirely on your ability to sell, which gives you bonuses. Here’s the catch...if your a good sale man and start to do really goo it’s your bonuses, they make changes to the bonus structure to their advantage. They will pay you for training and for most staff meetings but only pay you minimum wage. They also only pay minimum wage if you need to clean out your van. The owners seem mor interested in boating and horses then keeping the phones ringing, no calls come in they ask you to try home....not paid. My advice.....KEEP LOOKING
Pros
Take your van home
Cons
High pressure sales.

Great company to work for!
Marketing Manager (Current Employee) - 5, 406374 Ave S.E. Calgary Alberta - 3 May 2022
I have been working for Ace for a long time. I have had the opportunity to work in many aspects of the customer service and administration end. Each area has clear and defined processes which makes my work so much easier. The culture here is light hearted and up beat. The most enjoyable part of the job is helping customers with service issues.

Good work culture. You are not just a number as your effort greatly influences the entire company. Techs need to be people/client oriented to succeed. If they are, there are lots of bonuses and extra incentives. Office staff are nice and work hard.
Pros
Family oriented work environment

Garbage company
Tech (Former Employee) - Kelowna, BC - 3 February 2020
Great place to get started in the industry but the office staff is full of bullies and sleezebags. The techs are great but the lack of organization and sometimes pure incompetence of the office is enough to make one lose it

I wasn't salesman enough
Plumbing Apprentice (Former Employee) - Calgary, AB - 22 June 2015
I'd rather just do the work and not have to also be a salesman. Some journeymen were a bit abbrasive to work with and others a pleasure to work with.

Great place, good people. Co-workers are wonderfully delightful people, who would give you the shirt off their backs, if needed.

leaders had no work ethic. management is terrible.
apprentice plumber (Former Employee) - kelowna bc - 12 October 2011
No room to advance. Once I went to school for my red seal certificate, they told me I would no longer have a job, when I came back. I worked with 3 foremans my whole time with the company, and every single one of them was lazy and would take credit for other peoples work. You would advance through backstabbing of other employees, and brown nosing management. The only good thing I have to say about the company is the actual workers not the ones in leadership roles.
Pros
the workers
Cons
managemen, foreman
