biggest issue and I know its still going on today is there are people that have been there a long time and are in positions they do not deserve to be in because they have no idea the environment techs have to work in . And as being on the contractor side of an CNRL site you have sup par treatment compared to CNRL staff. That may be out of Acdens hands but as someone going to live in a commissary living and how little upkeep there was on the contractor building was a shame .
There is a reason they are always URGENTLY hiring! Morale is very low, the work is extremely redundant/mundane unless your with the in-crowd. Advancement is not an option in any way! Highest turnover in the Industry. There is a 90 Day site ban if you realize it's not for you and decide to move on.
Always hiring. Management is very adversarial. Job completion times are constantly decreasing to the point they interfere with safe work practises. Made some life long friends here while staying in Gen pop. Avoid at all costs or stay to get your oilfield site training paid for and go somewhere else.
There is extremely HIGH turnover due to the difficult management team. The expectations are impossible to meet and create UNSAFE working conditions. The Team Lead on one of the shift rotations is discriminatory and harasses employees who are not in his social group until they quit. Human Resources is 100% aware of the issues with management but WILL NOT intervene. This is obviously a culture that they condone. The worst part is that you will experience a 90 day site ban for other similar jobs once you take this one. It means that you will either have to put up with the TERRIBLE work environment or find yourself unemployed. Do yourself a favour and find work with any other company. Do not get trapped here!
The guys are great to work with, the management however is terrible. No communication from management about simple things you should know, then they jump down your throat because it’s not done their way. Lazy office staff will make your life miserable with nit picking, they think they run your life and the management lets them. Turn over rate is the worst I’ve ever seen which leads to a serious lack of communication and organization. Benefits are very expensive and the office staff that make your life miserable don’t pay for their own, the field techs pay for it.
