Been with this company off and on for 6 yrs, fast paced environment, coworkers are great to work with, supervision and management are overall great with room for improvement
enables us to socialise, build contacts and find support
A lack of community and differences in culture
A very good place to work. Very welcoming, open minded, eager to show some skills as well as learning from you. The management is calm and collected, they know their thing. They are actually the best
Free gifts, employee recognition
Yeah long hours but worth it
biggest issue and I know its still going on today is there are people that have been there a long time and are in positions they do not deserve to be in because they have no idea the environment techs have to work in . And as being on the contractor side of an CNRL site you have sup par treatment compared to CNRL staff. That may be out of Acdens hands but as someone going to live in a commissary living and how little upkeep there was on the contractor building was a shame .
i was 1 of 2 employees based in the Edmonton area, and for periods was the only one. All supervision is based in Ft.McMurray, Ab. though the supervisor did his best, i really cant fault him, the manager above him on the other hand was shoddy at best. poor personal skills, slow to decide, and if he decides he doesn't like you, he'll find a way to fire you, such as bad weather, or laying you off for applying for parental leave. little to no appreciation for the workers, but more then willing to spend on equipment, which breaks down more often then not. they also force you into overtime practically all the time. one good thing about it was the lack of pressure from direct supervision for which i have no complaints.
Working at ACDEN is very challenging but enjoyable place to work. I do recommend ACDEN to other job seeker because they give a fair treatment to each and everyone who worked in their company. Being a part of their company, I can say that I've learned a lot on how to managed our time properly. Yes, cleaning is hard for us senior, but if you will think and feel positively your environment even your co-workers, nothing is hard for us.
There is a reason they are always URGENTLY hiring! Morale is very low, the work is extremely redundant/mundane unless your with the in-crowd. Advancement is not an option in any way! Highest turnover in the Industry. There is a 90 Day site ban if you realize it's not for you and decide to move on.
Long Hours for local 14+ a day with bus. And no compensation. This is a Local company that supports FIFO for some odd reason if your not part of a clique your an outcast , expectations are impossible to meet and pay is not nearly satisfactory ,safety is low key with many incidents. Pros- met some Amazing people and lifelong friends ,7 days off , cons- Poor management . Avoid this place like the plague
Always hiring. Management is very adversarial. Job completion times are constantly decreasing to the point they interfere with safe work practises. Made some life long friends here while staying in Gen pop. Avoid at all costs or stay to get your oilfield site training paid for and go somewhere else.
There is extremely HIGH turnover due to the difficult management team. The expectations are impossible to meet and create UNSAFE working conditions. The Team Lead on one of the shift rotations is discriminatory and harasses employees who are not in his social group until they quit. Human Resources is 100% aware of the issues with management but WILL NOT intervene. This is obviously a culture that they condone. The worst part is that you will experience a 90 day site ban for other similar jobs once you take this one. It means that you will either have to put up with the TERRIBLE work environment or find yourself unemployed. Do yourself a favour and find work with any other company. Do not get trapped here!
No tools for the job, hard to get PPE, extremely long bus ride, management are useless, high pay but they take every chance they get, working during holidays, little overtime RRSP plan is only 1000 a year. Communication is really poor.
It’s a good shift if you are local to fort Mcmurray
14 plus hour days with the long bus ride, paid for 11.5 hours
lemax has the worst management very poorly run manager refuses to make any changes to better the company and the field supervisor is no better and is to the point that he doesn't care coveralls are a big issue and supplying basic tool to.do the job is an issues and when you go to hr to get help with these issues they find a way to fire you
Your days are full albeit sometimes routine. Acden seems to attract a mixed bag of personnel with good attitudes which always compliments the work week. Management treat their people well, advancement from within is encouraged and you do feel valued as an employee. Performing your duties under an umbrella of training and safety is as true summary for Acden Environment workplace culture. Morning Tool Box talks with great coffee were usually where the best problem solving was affected and definitely the most laughs.
Good pay, training with new equipment and safety lessons for life
