Stay Clear
Supervisor (Former Employee) - Fort McMurray, AB - 26 August 2023
Don't waste your time. I have never seen such a mess of safety and lack of upper management support before in my career. Until Acden can fix the mess from the top down, they will continue to destroy themselves from the inside out. Acden has great potential, but something needs to change within this organization.

Pressured work place and toxic management
Refrigeration Mechanic (Former Employee) - Fort McMurray, AB - 16 August 2023
Not recommended unless you are about to starve to death. Management has changed however it was more of a shuffle not an actual change. Underpaid over worked. Avoid it
Pros
Schedule was the only thing worthwhile there and it wasn't that great either
Cons
Management, salary, benefits

Poor management, no payscale. Talk is cheap.
Deckhand (Former Employee) - Kearl lake - 28 July 2023
Management will say what you want to hear to keep you around, no definitive answers, always beating around the bush and wasting your time and holding you back from better jobs with false promises of a better future with the "growing" company. The company is very cheap and tries everything to save money to keep for management and the owners. They underbid and bought there contracts and that reflects on the pay issues.
Pros
No pros at all other then good employees to get Long with
Cons
Pay, management, owners.

Poor management
Labourer (Former Employee) - Fort McMurray, AB - 25 July 2023
Great coworkers but management was the boys club lots of nepotism and favoritism. Poor leadership often led to more competent workers leaving. Work instructions were often unclear and expectations for jobs would change minute to minute.
Pros
7&7 shift, nice accomodation
Cons
Poor leadership

Regrettable and bad decision
HVAC Technician (Former Employee) - Fort Mackay, AB - 24 July 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Some of the coworkers made it bearable to work here. People in management had no clue on how to manage or treat people. It felt like a prison and if you wanted your self-esteem crushed then this would be the prefect place for that. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Management didn't do anything but push you like a slave. You were always overloaded with work and if you didn't get it completed you would be chewed out. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The work environment is very toxic and the company does not live by what it preaches. There is a very clear double standard with this company. What is a typical day like for you at the company? There isn't enough space to write the cr*p you have to deal with here.

Fair pay. Very political
Acden Environment (Former Employee) - Fort McMurray, AB - 10 May 2023
Fair pay. Political to the extreme. Unfortunately, a few rotten apples in management overshadow the good ones with their unprofessional behavior. High turnover for a reason: poor management.

Very political , but if you do your work and keep your head down,,,
General Manager, Acden Environment Limited Partnership (Current Employee) - Fort McMurray, AB - 16 February 2023
This is a changing working environment with heavy office politics, Keep your head down, stay out of it, do your job and don’t trust anyone. Good pay, clean work environment without the overtime you may enjoy being paid for.

Poor management and high turnaround rates
Journeyman Welder (Current Employee) - Alberta - 15 February 2023
When disagree with supervision or management you are told to go work else where. Treated very poorly even when you go above and beyond. Supervisors have little experience in the trade they supervise and thus have unreal expectations and have no idea of the proper tools and consumables needed to complete jobs in a timely manner
Pros
High pay
Cons
Treated poorly. No management. No quality control

Worse company I worked for.
Labourer (Former Employee) - Fort McMurray, AB - 13 October 2022
No advancement. Lack luster supervisors. That should have moved on. Very toxic workforce. Very clicky people. That if you don't fit in your out the door. No pay structure for years. Incidents every odd day on site. Lots of personal complacent and anyone that wasn't was lying to you. To not get in trouble.
Pros
Free coffee at the coffee station.
Cons
Supervisors don't back you up, Work personal extremely toxic and very clicky, Safety or management teams rarely showed unless to belittle you, No advancement in pay for years due to contacts of the past. Written in stone.

Unorganized
Employee (Current Employee) - Fort McMurray, AB - 6 October 2022
Pay is low, company is cheap, absolutely unorganized. Often felt like every day was management's first day amd they were just winging it. No trust in their employees.

Friendly work place
Journeyman Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (Former Employee) - Fort McMurray, AB - 22 September 2022
Very strict about safety which is needed to be. Competitive wages. Supervisors great and knowledgeable and helpful. Shift fellowship is good and always the company ask for overtime. It will be more attractive if the shift goes 14days on and 14days off
