Highly unmeritocratic and political, biased company thriving on brand gimmicks
OVR Manager (Former Employee) - Vancouver, BC - 5 September 2023
Typical day is spent at networking with MD's (partner in other consulting firms). People try and fish for a project where they can put in a chargeable WBS on timesheet without having to work much in reality
Pros
Fashion parade, stylish office, barista coffee machine at TO office
Cons
Incapable people yelling on capable team members to do work properly

Insights into Accenture
What people like
- Supportive environment
- Feeling of personal appreciation
- Inclusive work environment
Solid place for tech consulting
Consultant (Current Employee) - Vancouver - 25 October 2022
Be vocal and take initiative in where you want to point your career - It's a large organization, and it's easy to get sucked into projects that don't really contribute to your career growth. Network and be proactive on top of your day to day responsibilities.

Not a transparent company working as consultant
Senior Procurement Analyst (Former Employee) - Vancouver, BC - 24 March 2020
Lots of hidden agenda's making it a frustrating way to keep up with responsibilities.
Great place for pay and benefits, if your in USA. Benefits cut in Cda.

fun workplace
Junior QA Engineer (Former Employee) - Vancouver, BC - 7 January 2020
people bring to life our vision to improve the way the world works and lives. They deliver the same commitment, innovation and bold vision to our corporate citizenship efforts as they do to our clients. In turn, we design our corporate citizenship initiatives to encourage and facilitate their involvement.

Big corporation means drone working
Financial Systems (Former Employee) - Vancouver, BC - 12 November 2017
Corporate culture is deceiving. From the outside it looks productive, organised, inclusive and prestigious. However you are just a number. Culture is toxic, demeaning and repressive. Its who you know and how you can curry favour rather than skill, personal input and ideas. Add a powerful Crown Corp (BC Hydro) and Provincial government backed Union and you have a recipe for ineffectiveness, inefficiency and demoralizing culture.
Pros
healthcare
Cons
modern slavery

Good place to work
Call Centre Agent (Former Employee) - Vancouver, BC - 26 October 2017
Well managed. No complaints. There were regular meetings which kept you up to date on everything happening in the company. There seemed to be lots of opportunities to move up in the company.
Pros
Good channels for communication with management
Cons
Minimal time to develop relationships with co workers.

Accenture for BC Hydro
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Vancouver, BC - 18 July 2017
Never apply to this company- they work for BC hydro and all they do is hire and use you for the time your probation is done and fire you so that they don't don't have to pay more for your benefits to kick in and they again hire fresh new batch! The job is very stressful and they make you run like hounds in a race. They lost the contract with BC hydro- serves them right!
Pros
location
Cons
Everything else is bad!

One of the best employers I've had, enjoyed working here.
Great team, good career prospects. good remuneration and work life balance.

Cons
Long commutes to client sites

Worst place I have ever worked - Good thing BC Hydro did not renew their contract with them!!!
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Vancouver, BC - 12 April 2017
Nothing you do will be good enough. You will be a number not a person. If you want to value your work and yourself, do yourself a favour and don't work here. All they want is a machine who has no life other than to come to work and answer every call you can but do not take long. Make sure you code. Make sure you smile when the customer treats you like garbage. Make sure you don't need a drink or a stretch or a bathroom break too often. Make sure you have used every single word they tell you to in the order they want or you won't pass quality. Don't like it? Too bad. They'll just hire a bunch more people until they get the monkeys they want. Oh, and the "great new building" they have in downtown Vancouver.. it's a converted parking garage with no light and horrible ventilation. The dust and smells in there are horrendous.. but don't complain!!! You will have a target on your back. They don't like when someone has a brain of their own, or questions when something isn't right or calls them on how needlessly stressful the job is, or is treated like garbage. Sad that the "hot chocholate" they say they offer is the best part of working there. I sure hope BC Hydro knows who they outsourced their business to.
Pros
Decent money-but geez don't ever take a day off!
Cons
Everything. The turnover is the highest I've ever seen..for good reason.

Client Service Representative (Former Employee) - Vancouver, BC - 1 November 2016
great co-works however the policies and such not so cool. you can also get stuck with evening and weekend hours on their shift bidding system while working in the converted parking garage. so if you like windows and natural light, this is not the place
