Pay isn’t catching up with the cost of living

I’ve been with Accenture for over four years and I’m feeling frustrated with career growth. It’s hard to switch gears career-wise with this company as people urge you to just take the work you’re given.

complicated.

i was hired through agency - which is horrible. you get ZERO benefits for 12 months or 4 if the company hires you. they’re very strict, can’t be a minute late or they’ll be on your case. 4 weeks of power point training and then boom the throw you into the field. the environment is neat and fun , most of the people are nice but overall if this is a new work environment for you then GOODLUCK.

Good place to work

Overall it’s good place to work. But it would highly depend on which client or which mgr you work for. But usually they are nice and friendly, and professional.

Pros

Many different projects with different technologies

Cons

Not stable, need to change project after the term ends

Good company

Good company to work and can learn new technologies. Project might be tedious sometimes. Company respects ethics and values. Lot of job openings in big cities.

Productive and massive company.

Great job if you read the fine print and feel comfortable making cold calls. Accenture works with other companies and has contracts that their workers will work under, so while I worked at Accenture I was on a contract that was under some public scrutiny. The hardest part of the job was dealing with the micromanagers (team leads) who would require you to be making a specific amount of calls and following a very foolish protocol for said calls. The nicest part of the job was the amount of workers that you would be connected with. Accenture is a global company so it was really nice to be able to connect with other employees in different areas of the world, sharing experiences and growing.

Pros

Sometimes they would give coupons for lunches.

Cons

Heavily micromanaged.

nice employees but not enough training

- Good culture but not enough training. - Threw me on the floor to quickly without proper on floor training. Only terminology- They defiantly don't pay enough for the job you are doing.- They expect you to learn from your failures.- Not enough time to prep for clients - Focuses on getting out pitches to clients instead of actually helping them

Pros

Nice people

Cons

your going to have to study and practice off the clock to ensure you do you well.

Good culture, good people, advancement difficult

Overall company culture is great - highly motivate and skilled people. Positions however are very competitive and so advancement can be very difficult. In outsourcing you may find that you feel seperate from the rest of the company - and so advancements and career path changes are very difficult to achieve

Pros

Company culture

Cons

Little opportunity for advancement

flexible, ability to work remotely

Good flexible hours and good management, and the ability to work remotely. However this is a temp role through an agency which means you're not paid at your real value. You also get no benefits, or paid time off. All of this makes you feel that there's no job security which ultimately makes advancement opportunities very limited.

Good for new graduates with little experience.

Working at Accenture has been an incredible experience in terms of learning new technologies. The hardest part of the job would be continuously working on multiple teams at once. On-call is a hidden factor and may not be advertised during the interviewing process.

Great Teams Striving for Common Goals

Objectives were clearly defined and presented to team members on a regular basis. As in most organizations, the people are the most important asset and the people I worked with were great.

Good workplace

Good workplace, however you are unlikely to become an employee for 2-5 years due to its policy of hiring you as a contractor via temp agencies, and you never automatically qualify for full time employment. A friend of mine has been there for 7 years and only was offered full time employment a couple months ago.

Pros

Great experience

Cons

Minimum wage for high-level work

Very professional and competitive

Accenture is one of the best places for a young consultant to work. They give you an amazing amount of responsibility as a young professional and there is a wonderful culture focused on development their people. Highly recommended place to work, better for younger professionals due to time commitments and travel potential.

Pros

Great leaders, very smart people

Cons

Travel

Worst company culture I have ever seen.

I have had the displeasure of working on a sub contract with Accenture and from what I saw of how they treat their employees, the intimidation and lack of empathy i was somewhat shocked. Many employees complained that what they were told at interview was not what the position worked out to be.

Pros

very few

Cons

dishonest and misleading

Productive and enjoyable work enviroment

Great work environment for students fresh out of school. Busy fast paced. Hardest part of the job is managing stress levels. Most enjoyable is the staff that you get to work with. The work place culture is great extremely diverse and overall very friendly and respectful environment.

Pros

Staff is wonderful, supportive and great to work with. Benifts are great.

Cons

Management. Lack of communication and support for Staff.

Progressive Company

Progressive company with poor attention to employee work life balance. Management does not compensate nor promote appropriately based on talent. Promotions are used for diversity purposes only.

Pros

None

Cons

Very process oriented work place and not at all Agile.

I felt the contractors are treated like second class employees. They never respected my request for my vacation even after a year of working with them which they initially agreed.
