Awful management with unrealistic expectations! Run away!
Residential Support Worker (Former Employee) - Markham, ON - 28 July 2021
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedI just now realized I can give this company on Indeed, the only place I feel this place could ever be found. They pay you FAR BELOW what they should to be, working in a behavioural setting! I make 25$ an hour now, working for a different company. I believe I was paid maybe 15-16$ to work with high behaviours, working 10-12 hours because coworkers would show up late or I would be asked almost every day to work longer. I would maybe have one day off a week. We were NVCI trained working with people above the age of 18, not allowing for restraint to be used when absolutely needed? Employees were told to run away from clients, instead of using the necessary holds for people our own size or larger? I got yelled at for having to restrain a 25 year old who was bigger than myself, hitting their head on the kitchen island and tile kitchen floor repeatedly? I had more issues working there for a short period of time than I have had my whole 2+ years working elsewhere. This might give away who I am but my supervisor sent a coworker in who had pink eye, a week before I was supposed to get eye surgery? Saying that pink eye isn’t that contagious? And that we “practice safe hygiene” after I just watched my coworker rub her eyes before prepping dinner with no gloves on? There was milk/urine soaked carpet in this outdated house, no proper means to do my job, and no A/C? Run away, as fast as you can. They have ZERO care for their employees. Zero.
