Decent shop, big tanks

Indeed featured review

Decent place to work. 2nd shift isn’t for everyone. And it can be hard to get to 1st. That being said if you like 2nd shift work it’s a good place to do it. I can’t review days because I didn’t ever work them.

Pros

Break, pay, overtime

No room to move

I started this job not knowing how to weld, within weeks I was fully trained and thrown on the job all around the united states. The job was fun and I loved to travel. It didn't take long before the management got to you with how much they didn't care about you or your personal life. I quit after three years when the people I was in charge of where making more then me.

Cons

pay

Travel

You have to travel all the time and there is little to no time every week at home to spend with family and friends.

You'll work with some really good guys.

You basically are building skid systems for companies all over the world from scratch. Companies like Kraft, Mars, ConAgra and other heavy hitters. They'll teach you how to weld and fit tube and pipe as well as build tanks and frames. Management could be a little more knowledgeable about the job that their employees do so they can understand problems and troubleshooting. Your coworkers are normal blue collar guys that are for the most part easy to get along with. Hardest thing would be putting in all that hard work and then getting a check that does not reflect the effort you put in. Non Union so your starting at 13.00 and getting a 1-2 percent raise once a year. Good part is its always different everyday and you're always learning,

Pros

Good benefits

Cons

Abysmoly low starting pay with small raises
