Decent shop, big tanks
Welder (Former Employee) - Stratford, WI - 10 November 2021
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedDecent place to work. 2nd shift isn’t for everyone. And it can be hard to get to 1st. That being said if you like 2nd shift work it’s a good place to do it. I can’t review days because I didn’t ever work them.
Pros
Break, pay, overtime

Stupid hours. Hope you don't have a family
Production Worker (Current Employee) - Stratford, WI - 2 December 2022
I go to bed at 7:30-8pm every night. Before my 5yo. Just so I can be up at 4am to go to work and start at 5am. Then it's 10 hours with only two 15 minute breaks (no lunch) which really wouldn't be bad because that's a 3 day weekend, right????? Nope. Be ready to go to bed early again for Friday for working another 5 or 7 or 10 hour day depending on need. You don't know usually until the day before so don't plan anything.
Pros
Starting stupid early and not getting a lunch has helped me lose 10lbs
Cons
Too exhausted and too many fires to put out at home to find a new job.

Nobody knows what is going on anymore
Manager (Former Employee) - Stratford, WI - 11 March 2022
A typical day working at the office of A&B involves about 4-6 meetings a day. In between the meetings there is arguing with another department about whose fault it is that something was messed up. Every single possible dollar lost even as little as $100 on a $100k project requires answers to upper (micro) management. Forget about bonuses and raises or even a review from your manager. The managers are constantly talking badly about other employees. This has been proven by accident on multiple Teams group chats. This company has fired so many good hard working intelligent people, overworked the leftover people, and tricked the new people into joining their "team". There is not any training. There are not any incentives. There is not any organization. It is remarkable it's still in business. They are the typical "Work an extra 20 hours this week and we will buy you some pizza!". The hardest part of the job was finding a way to enjoy it. The negativity from management only trickles down throughout the departments and even to the front-line welders. The only enjoyable part of this job left a long time ago with the rest of the great employees.
Pros
Good starting pay
Cons
No incentives, low wages, everyone is overwhelmed, no organization

Too much corporate management
Pipefitter/Welder (Former Employee) - Stratford, WI - 3 March 2022
Too much corporate management that treat employees like peasants. You’re treated like a number. I’ve seen lots of people with many years experience just walk out the door.

Great coworkers; terrible pay and management
Welder/Fabricator (Current Employee) - Stratford, WI - 5 August 2021
The workers here are for the most part very good. Except for a few exceptions everyone works as a team and the days go smoothly. Pay for the work we do is abysmal; any stainless shop in the area pays far better. Leads in the shop are great but management above them is beyond terrible. It seems like the worse a worker is the more they protect them and try to keep them. If a worker is good then they couldn’t care less if they leave. Rather than try to retain experienced welders and fabricators they think they can replace them through temp agencies. Definitely would not recommend working here.
Pros
Coworkers
Cons
Pay, management

Very unaccepting of outside views and adverse to change.
Customer Care Manager (Former Employee) - Stratford, WI - 22 January 2020
They have a lot of pride in what they have done but they are not open to new concepts. They are being driven to transform to fit into JBT's mold. Nicer newer campus.

Great Place
Welder (Former Employee) - Stratford, WI - 20 November 2019
Always had plenty of work. Hours were consistent and plenty of opportunities for overtime. Very close knit group of workers. Plenty of chances for improvement and skill building.

A&B Process Systems
IS Specialist (Former Employee) - Stratford, WI - 27 May 2019
Overall A&B Process Systems was a good place to work. I would have stayed if the company had not been sold. Only left as did not like the direction of the company after it was sold.

Love the place
Regional Field Supervisor (Former Employee) - All over the U.S. - 17 April 2019
A&B was a great place to work. Very close knit group of people. A lot of the people are related one way or another but they are very welcoming and I felt like part of the family.
Pros
Accommodating
Cons
Jobs were now local

Work
Welder/Fitter (Former Employee) - Dorchester, WI - 13 April 2019
Learned how to weld that's about it, nobody takes the time really to teach you anything new unless you are there for a decently long time. Long work days, not home very often.

Mismanagement at it's finest
Welder/Fabricator (Current Employee) - Stratford, WI - 11 February 2019
Everyone has an answer but the people who are in charge have no idea what the question is.
There are changes being made to benefit the minority and being a subsidy of JBT is the worst this that could happen to any company

Good place to get experience
Manufacturing Operator (Former Employee) - Marathon County, WI - 23 October 2018
It was a great place to start and get some experience. Pay was okay but started kind of low for being trained in welding and all other things needed. But over all a good place.
Pros
Lots of money if you put in the time
Cons
Longs days

Automation Engineering
Automation Engineer (Former Employee) - Stratford, WI - 6 October 2018
This is a company that I will never forget working for. Their campus is loaded with very experienced top quality engineers and if it wasn't for the fact that I had to move, I wouldn't have quit. Incredible people and projects.
Pros
Pay, benefits, people, culture
Cons
I was on salary, and it was a busy gig.

Great Company with Great People
Welder (Former Employee) - Stratford, WI - 27 August 2018
A&B was a place that I used to start my welding career because they did all the training in house and the work environment was good. I learned how to weld as well as fabricate and polish. It is a great company to work for.
Pros
Paid Breaks
Cons
Dirty

Would not work there!
Southeast Regional Sales Manager (Current Employee) - Stratford, WI - 13 August 2018
A&B will work you day in and day out, expecting travel on weekends and doesn't care that you might have a family. They are the highest priced company in the industry and while every other company is busy, A&B is laying off and firing people. I should have stayed with my old company after being there for 12 years.
Pros
Pay
Cons
Mostly everything

Good
Electrical Technician (Former Employee) - Stratford, WI - 11 April 2017
A&B Process systems was a good place to work. The benefits were below average and the pay was very low. The first raise was $.05, not impressed but the people were great to work with.
