2. Create a header

The header of your resume is where you introduce yourself and your basic contact information. When you write this section of your resume, include your first and last names, a professional email address you monitor, your phone number, and where you live. Your email address and your phone number are especially important because this is how a hiring manager can contact you with more information about the role, or an offer to schedule an interview. Including where you live is important because some organizations want their professionals to live within a certain distance of work sites and office buildings.

3. Write a professional summary

A professional summary is a two- or three-sentence-long description of your professional achievements. This often describes how long you've been working in the industry. This can be important if an organization requires its professionals to have a minimum number of years of experience. You can also write about any certifications you have, write about a notable experience, and list your top skill. Finally, you can use this section to explain how you supported previous architectural projects in previous roles, or how you plan to support them if this is your first role.

4. List your skills

As an architectural technologist, your skills are very important for your role.
