The Classification unit provides centralized job evaluation services and technical expertise to departments and supports the achievement and maintenance of Yukon government’s classification strategies and objectives. We are currently looking for individuals to join our dynamic team as a Classification Analyst. Ideally candidates will have experience in a human resource field or working in a complex analytical role with a keen interest in developing an understanding of job evaluation plans, systems, and processes.


This opportunity…


This is a unique opportunity in that you will work to build your skills in job evaluation while being assigned to one of the largest departments in Yukon government – Health and Social Services. The nature of the work will expose you to the health sector as this system is evolving and transitioning. At the conclusion of the training, you will be the dedicated resource to the department of Health and Social Services.


Essential Qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet each of the following qualifications. Emphasize how your work experiences and related duties align with the essential and asset qualifications listed below. Note, that selection for further consideration is based solely on the information you provide in your resume.


  • Post-secondary education or coursework in a discipline related to human resources:
  • Experience working with and applying legislation, preferably in a government setting:
  • Experience performing analytical work (e.g. reviewing, evaluating, auditing), preferably in a unionized or government setting and/or in the field of human resources:
  • Experience providing client and/or customer service.

Candidates who have a combination of education or training and experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
