Position Description

The Department of Biological Sciences within the Faculty of Science at the University of Calgary invites applications for a Summer 2024 Term BIOL 305 Sessional Instructor.

The successful candidate will have responsibilities for instruction and associated duties for all of this 3-unit course, which will be offered in person. There are no laboratories or tutorials associated with this course.

Biology 305 - The Human Organism
BIOL 305 provides an introduction to human biology that analyzes the structure and function of systems in our bodies, leading to an appreciation of how the human body maintains itself and carries out the functions necessary to sustain any organism. This course for non-majors develops students' understanding of the anatomy and physiology of their own species in a zoological and evolutionary context.

Summer 2024 Term Dates: Monday, June 24, 2024 - Sunday, August 25, 2024

Teaching Schedule: Lectures are MWF 10:00 - 11:50 and will be offered in-person

Qualifications:
The successful candidate requires a minimum of an MSc in one of the biological sciences, with a PhD preferred. They also require evidence of teaching effectiveness and previous teaching experience, preferably in this course.
