Duties

  • Review and interpret medication orders to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Prepare and dispense medications in accordance with established protocols.
  • Provide patient care by counseling patients on medication usage, side effects, and interactions.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to optimize pharmacotherapy.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and adjust medication regimens as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of prescriptions and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in acute care settings, providing specialized pharmaceutical care to patients.
  • Educate healthcare staff on medical terminology and best practices in medication management.

Skills

  • Proficient in medication administration techniques and protocols.
  • Strong focus on patient care with the ability to assess individual patient needs.
  • Experience in acute care settings, particularly within hospital environments.
  • Knowledge of pediatrics is a plus, enhancing the ability to serve younger populations effectively.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology to communicate effectively with healthcare teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing pharmacy operations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaboration with patients and healthcare professionals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65.00-$70.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
