Chiron RX operates as a group of pharmacies with over 29 locations throughout Canada and we are growing rapidly. We are looking for a licensed pharmacist (full -time) to join our growing team!

Job Title: Pharmacist

Salary: Dependent on Experience + Education

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented pharmacist to join our team. The pharmacist will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for patients, providing pharmaceutical care, and promoting patient well-being. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a thorough understanding of pharmaceutical practices, and a commitment to excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense prescribed medications to patients, ensuring accuracy and safety.
  • Provide counselling to patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions.
  • Review prescriptions for completeness, accuracy, and appropriateness, and verify with physicians as necessary.
  • Monitor patient profiles for potential drug interactions, contraindications, and allergies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
  • Educate patients on general health topics, such as lifestyle changes and chronic disease management.
  • Manage inventory and ensure medications are stored properly and securely.
  • Stay up to date on the latest pharmaceutical research, trends, and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, medications, and patient interactions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for pharmaceutical operations.
  • Support the preparation and dispensing of specialized medications (e.g., sterile products, chemotherapy).

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid pharmacist license, member in good standing.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology, pharmaceutical compounding, and drug interactions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in retail, hospital, or clinical pharmacy settings is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Board Certification in a pharmaceutical specialty.
  • Experience with medication therapy management (MTM).
  • Knowledge of insurance billing procedures and formulary systems.
  • Ability to educate and mentor pharmacy technicians and interns.
