CNC Machine Operator

Apply your experience and love of working on parts from start to finish. Our CNC Machinists take the project from blueprint to reality by programming and operating our machines.

Weldco-Beales Manufacturing designs and manufactures specialized heavy equipment attachments for the construction, forestry, mining, scrap recycling, road maintenanceand resource industries throughout Canada, the USA and internationally. This position will report to the Shop Foreman.

What you will do:

  • Read and understand blueprints, study specifications, drawings to determine the required machining operations
  • Reads and interprets work orders, set programs and operates CNC lathes and mills
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances, and prepare working sketches if necessary
  • Ensure workmanship throughout the manufacturing process and on finished goods meets or exceeds the costs, quality and schedule expectations for all customers
  • Check parts for defects, maintains and repairs equipment as required
  • Operate various machine shop equipment and tools safety, including some or all of the following: Lathes, Mills, Boring Mills, Drills, Saws and Machining centres
  • Safety conscious with full participation in the safety program and all safety requirements
  • Other duties as required

Your qualifications:

  • Ticketed journeyman machinist is preferred
  • Minimum of 3’rd year apprentice can apply
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the fieldexperience can apply
  • Experience machining steel
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Fanuc controllers
  • Demonstrated proficiency in programming at the machine
  • Proficient in the use of all tools common to the machine shop environment
  • Experience using CAD/CAM software is an asset, specifically Mastercam
  • Experience programming and operating CNC Machines using G Code programming is preferred and Mazatrol programming is an asset.

  • In-depth knowledge of all tools and equipment and their use and care
  • Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others
  • Time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 20 kg
  • Excellent safety record
