Become an Associate in Applied Modelling & Data Systems
Who we are
At ACF Associates, we deliver high-impact program and product support solutions to government and civilian clients across aerospace maintenance and performance-based operations. As an independent consulting firm, we pride ourselves on being approachable, collaborative, and results-focused; working alongside our clients from initial concept through to successful implementation.
Our team brings deep, hands-on expertise in the Canadian Air Force and the broader aerospace and defence sector. We turn that insight into practical, timely solutions that create real value. Simply put, we help our clients get results, and get them right.
We operate as a fully virtual organization, with team members across Canada. This model thrives on strong communication, disciplined project management, and continuous innovation, enabling us to stay agile, connected, and consistently deliver exceptional outcomes.
Position Description
As an entry-level Associate with ACF Associates:
· You will provide data analysis and IT development services.
· You will work on developing new and refining existing mathematical models and algorithms that underpin core software products
· You will liaise with our customers to better understand their needs.
· You will work with other Associates to develop high-quality solutions for our customers.
This position requires: a client-focused perspective, a desire to learn complex concepts related to Performance Management, strong algorithm and data processing/analysis capabilities, as well as IT skills to support the development of customized web-based performance management applications.

The thesis requirement is essential: it demonstrates the ability to define a complex problem, build and validate a model, and communicate results rigorously.
An undergraduate degree in engineering, data analytics, or a closely related field is the expected foundation for this graduate credential.
Applicant requirements
· Thesis-based Masters in Applied Science (MASc), with a focus in mathematical modeling, algorithm development, and/or software development
· Demonstrated problem-solving ability and familiarity with mathematical modelling, validated through graduate-level thesis work

· Strong IT skills in several/all of the following:
· Experience with Pandas or equivalent data analysis tools in Python
· Experience with relational databases
· Experience with data modelling
· Strong written and oral communication skills
· Demonstrated ability to excel in team-based environments
· Demonstrated ability to self-regulate and manage work to meet deadlines in a demanding and fast-paced environment
· Eligibility to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the SECRET level
This position requires a thesis-based Master’s degree (MASc or equivalent) in a mathematical modelling discipline. Applicants must demonstrate independent modelling work (problem formulation, analysis, and validation). Coursework-based programs or non-thesis degrees will not be considered
Assets
· Experience in the Aerospace and/or Defence industries
· Experience with web frameworks such as Flask or Django
· Experience with React or a similar front-end framework
· Experience with application deployment with AWS or Azure Services
· Experience working in an AGILE (or similar) software development lifecycle and related DevOps tools (git, JIRA, etc)
