The Clerk III works under the general supervision and guidance of the Community Health Center (CHC) Area Manager, Care Manager and Vaccination Coordinator (VC). This position performs a variety of general reception, clerical, and office duties to support the Well Child Clinic and School Health programs at the CHC; and must be able to communicate effectively with public, clients, health care staff, physicians and other external providers. The position processes a high volume of public and client inquires.

This position schedules and books appointment for clients. This position is responsible for the data entry functions and the public health records management system in the CHC. This position updates demographic and group assignment data in the PHANTIM system; utilizes the community electronic scheduling system; creates and manages PHANTIM group assignment; and completes data verification processes on community health and on school health records.

The Clerk III School Clerk provides general clerical and office support duties to support the Public Health - CHC School Program at the Village Square Community Health Center.

The employee shall maintain confidentiality of all Alberta Health Services information in accordance with the Health Information Act, Freedom of Information and Privacy, and other privacy legislation in effect and shall comply at all times with Alberta Health Services Information and Privacy and Information and Security Polices.
High School Graduate, preferably supplemented by commercial/business courses.

Minimum of two years experience in related discipline.

Current experience supporting a Community Health Centre Vaccination program required

Computer courses (including MS Windows), Word, Excel, and Data Entry preferred; computer proficiency required

Knowledge and experience with PHANTIM application required.

Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.

Experience with reception skills in a clinic setting required.

Accurate/Organized clerical abilities preferred.

Well developed written and oral communication skills.

Experienced with complex multicultural populations preferred.

Ability to communicate effectively with the public and staff both in person and on the telephone.

Current knowledge of Alberta Immunization Scheduling required.
