Reporting to the Bloor Street store GM and working in close concert with the Corporate Communications team nationally, the Manager, Marketing strategically builds the profile of Holt Renfrew and its product and experience offering through the development of dynamic events at the Bloor street store, and strong relationships with community partners. Success in this role is measured by an enhanced reputation and growth in brand profile and related sales, aligned to the corporate objectives and merchant priorities of Holt Renfrew.

What is expected from the position?
1.
Leadership
Create e.Personal Performance Plan, leading by example

2.
Local Execution of Events
Plan and manage store events and client outreach for the flag store, in collaboration with the Corporate Marketing teams
Manage store budget and ROI for in-kind event sponsorship to control costs
Ensure alignment of national charitable program at local store level, according to Corporate guidelines
Support the regional execution of marketing events and PR, including budget allocations, as per guidelines from corporate marketing
Drives the production process on events, partnering with the marketing to provide copy and proofreading merchant/regional event print requests
Develops event concepts and details in partnership with the General Manager, marketing team, merchants and stores
Develops and manages the event budget for the local flag store, based on the number of events approved through the seasonal planning process
Reports monthly budget status to the General Manager

Event Communication Support
Works with Marketing teams on communication of events and event calendar
Takes the opportunity to champion specific projects in partnership with other regional and Corporate Marketing teams
Works with the Corporate Marketing team on planning and coordination of media attendance at events and interviews where applicable
4.
Development and execution of store-based communication and marketing programs
Manage community relations and marketing outreach programs with community partners (business associations, Tourism, hotels, etc.) to drive traffic into stores
Work with Corporate Communications team members, vendors and merchant areas to support local personal appearance, product launches and events
As appropriate, research and suggest appropriate speaking opportunities and events for the General Manager, and work with Corporate Communications to support the development of messaging and speeches
Support the execution of employee communication programs within the store, taking guidance from Corporate Communications
5.
Administration
Oversee administration for events and public relations activities, including managing budgets, expenses, filing, photocopying and couriers
Manage the development of guests lists

Pre-requisites:
What experience or education you need to develop before you apply for the position.
A Bachelor's degree in Communications or a related discipline
A minimum of 5 years progressive experience
Proven public relations and event communications experience
Must demonstrate a clear understanding of the media landscape from an image and reputation management perspective and media relations, while also possessing a broader understanding of the luxury goods and services industry
