POSITION SUMMARY:
Regional HR Consultant, Canadian Tire Automotive & Dealer Relations - Vaughan

Reporting to the Manager, HR Solutions, the Regional Human Resources Consultant is accountable for delivering a broad range of value-added, professional Human Resources consultation and support to Canadian Tire Automotive (PartSource Store Operations).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the HR Manager in planning and implementing customized HR solutions

Provide direct business partner HR support and advice on a wide range of HR functions including interpretation of employment legislation and corporate policies, performance management, employee relations, compensation, disability management, career development and leaves of absence

Coordinate and support the delivery and implementation of value-added HR programs, resources and practices that link HR initiatives with specific business needs

Coordinate and conduct termination processes and employee exit interviews

Work with Health Services to coordinate employee STD, LTD and other health-related leaves and issues

Assist business and HR partners by providing implementation support to organizational structure changes including managing risks and impact of change

Research best practices, identify opportunities and trends for new or improved HR solutions and communicate findings

Provide business context for Staffing Specialist to support talent acquisition

Work collaboratively with HR peers and offer insights on continuous improvements to HR programs, resources and processes

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
Completed post-secondary education, preferably in Human Resource Management or Business Administration

Professional HR designation is an asset (complete or near completion)

4-6 years of progressive HR generalist experience

2+ years of Human Resources experience supporting hourly workforce (retail/hospitality an asset)

Proven experience interpreting and advising on policies and practices related to employment legislation, employee relations, performance management, compensation, change management

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Superior consulting skills and experience coaching managers

Proficient influencing skills to present alternatives, resolve conflicts and minimize high risk situations

Excellent communication skills (listening, verbal, written, presentation preparation and delivery)

Experience facilitating workshops is an asset

Demonstrated ability to quickly and effectively assess situations to determine business needs

Excellent time and project management skills with proven organizational and multi-tasking proficiency

Organizational agility, with a high level of comfort in dealing with employees at all levels

Ability to build rapport and maintain high level of confidence and integrity at all levels of the organization

Strong computer skills including experience working with HRIS systems (which utilize a platform such as Peoplesoft) and MS Office applications

Able to travel nationally for extended periods of time (1-2 weeks). Valid drivers license required.
