We are currently recruiting for a Business Analyst – Finance Systems for our Scarborough location.
This position reports directly to the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting Operations (G.I), and working closely with the other Finance functions, including Financial Reporting, Management Reporting (Essbase), Finance Systems, IT, Reinsurance, Actuarial, Expense Management, Planning, ANA Regions, and L&A Finance.
Job Summary ·
Support the Finance Organization with respect to resolve issues due to Finance GL Application, business process in accounting operation and finance reporting. ·
Recommend solution and best practice for accounting operation procedures in terms of day-to-day finance system activities, information flow, system interfaces and correlation between core GL application (Oracle GL) and its upstream and downstream applications (Source Systems, ODS, DRM, Essbase and Finance Data Store).
Act as the functional administrator and subject matter expert of Essbase and Data Relationship Management tool (DRM) in terms of maintaining system set up and configuration.
Act as the custodian of the list of financial and management reports maintained in Essbase. Update report specification due to the changes in reporting requirement and chart of accounts / hierarchies.
Streamline process and recommend system enhancement that improve operating efficiency in month end close and financial reporting without comprising key internal controls.
Facilitate BAU end user training, prepare and maintain training materials.
Provide functional support in Finance Project initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
Acts as the functional administrator of DRM and Essbase who is responsible for resolving any finance system related issues, maintaining the documentation of current procedures, facilitating end user training, recommending best practices and seeking opportunities to improve operating efficiency and effectiveness.
Recommend solution and best practice for accounting operation procedures in terms of day-to-day finance system activities, information flow, system interfaces and correlation between core GL application (Oracle GL) and its upstream and downstream applications (Source Systems, ODS, DRM, Essbase and Finance Data Store).
Documenting of the process flow that specify finance functional users interactions, describing how information flow through various business applications within finance operations.
Act as the custodian of the list of financial and management reports maintained in Essbase. Update report specification due to the changes in reporting requirement and chart of accounts / hierarchies.
Gathers and analyzes new business requirements and assesses the finance and operation impact of the existing business processes.
Working closely with the business stakeholders, and business partners to provide guidance of finance system solution and to design new finance operation processes.
Work with members of the finance and accounting teams to ensure that the system design meet the finance system governance protocol and key finance internal control exist.
Experience/Skills Required
5 years experience in various functional areas such as finance system operation, planning, general accounting, project accounting and finance system projects.
Strong Oracle, Excel and Essbase or other comparable ERP system experience.
Focus on delivering excellent customer service.
Team player.
Education Required
Holder of a recognized accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA, ACCA, CPA).
