Develop, analyze, interpret and provide internal distribution of project financial information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability and performance against budget
Work with the Operations Management team to identify and forecast financial exposures
Work with project staff along with accounts receivable, accounts payable, trade payable and the general accounting finance department
Maintenance of the project cost reports and project ledgers
Ensuring the integrity of the project budget
Verifications of invoices and correct holdback, coding and allocations
Verifications of overhead charges and their distribution
Issuing monthly project cost reports that include forecast costs (to be provided by the project staff) and total monthly variances
Work closely with Project Manager in preparing monthly progress invoices to Owner/Consultant for work performed during the month
Upon early release of any Subcontractors holdback prior to Substantial Completion of the Project, work closely with Project Manager, Subcontractors, Sub/Subcontractors and their Suppliers, Trade Unions (etc.) to determine all committed costs are identified and proper releases are provided prior to payment being made
Maintain accurate and timely Cash Flow data, both current and forecasted as compared to projected Cash Flow
Administer input of all approved Change Orders and increases to Prime Contract and pertinent Subcontracts. Ensure all Contract Purchase Order Changes are issued to Subcontractors on a regular basis
Knowledge & Skills
Minimum of 3 years relative work experience
Broad knowledge of general accounting practices and in-depth understanding of accounting procedures
CGA/CMA Certification required
Good communication skills
Proven ability to work to and meet deadlines
Expertise with computerized accounting systems, specifically related to project costing
Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives are prerequisites
The ability to travel, within the GTA, is a requirement for periodic visits to job sites to review cost reports on-site
