The Buildings & Facilities Division is in need of specialist engineers who wish to function in the building commissioning service line. The Division requires one or two business and technical leaders who wish to expand the service line and lead it Nationally. The position(s) would entail development of the service line at a National level with key functions related to
Service line definition and alignment with market requirements
Technical and business development expertise
Mentoring of M&E staff in the service line
Participation in hiring of required additional staff
Interaction with Division management
Proposal and project delivery guidance, with authority and responsibility for the overall direction of the service line
Buildings & Facilities Division Management envisions this role as a critical business development requirement that interfaces with all MH offices as key service line specialist.
Conduct project delivery activities related to Building Commissioning, including whole building commissioning, best practices Commissioning, and LEED-related commissioning projects.
Conduct proposal delivery activities related to Building Commissioning, including whole building commissioning, best practices Commissioning, and LEED-related commissioning projects.
Participate on LEED and sustainability projects, including evaluation of submissions to the CaGBC as well as design projects for clients.
Attend meetings and coordinate work with other disciplines and team members, including electrical, structural, civil, transportation, data centre specialists, building code, building envelope/science, and other specialty services at MH.
Liaison/coordination with clients, contractors and authorities having jurisdiction
Develop National strategies and business plans for the expansion of the service line.
The ideal candidate would have the following skills and qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or College diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Building Systems Engineering
20+ years experience in Mechanical/Electrical consulting engineering
5+ years experience in building commissioning
Be considered a specialist in his/her field
Interest in buildings, commissioning, energy, sustainability and construction
Desire to perform work at high quality standards
Desire to partner with clients to achieve client goals
Strong and demonstrated written and oral communication skills in English.
Strong understanding of the consulting engineering business
Key interest in strategic business planning and development
Desire and enjoyment of staff development and mentoring
Enjoy working in a collegial, staff empowered environment.
