You will work on a high-performance development team responsible for new product development and enhancements to feature rich web applications. You will work across Pason’s web technology stack with a particular focus on delivering strong user experience and maintaining the DataHub’s high-availability and scalability. The successful candidate will work closely with other software developers, product owners, architects, user experience specialists, and quality assurance professionals to ensure timely delivery of commercial grade web and mobile applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Working with a highly efficient software development team and using a variety of technologies to develop features and functionality for our core DataHub product.
Writing unit tests for developed functionality and generally supporting the necessary infrastructure for a highly productive and effective modern software team.
Working with the Product Management, Quality Assurance, and User Experience teams to deliver features and functionality that provide exceptional user experience.
Participating in all aspects of the software development process, including requirements definition (user stories), high-level designs, sizing and estimating exercises, code reviews, documentation and testing.
Contributing to the overall maintenance and development of our automated build systems.
Essential Job Requirements
Education
A bachelor’s degree on Computer Science, Software Engineering or Computer Engineering.
Experience
Three years' experience in Java (preferred), C#, C++ development.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated experience using SQL and relational databases required
Experience developing web based applications required (client/server, scalability, distributed systems, Web Servers / SOA)
Knowledge and enthusiasm for Agile development methodologies required (Scrum, XP)
Experience in Python development
Familiarity with web-based technologies such as Apache and Tomcat
Experience with message oriented middleware (e.g. JMS)
Linux knowledge
Experience with Data Historian databases
Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA, GreenHopper, and Confluence
