The Career Sales Force (CSF)Recruiting & Selection Consultant partners with financial centre management teams and regional teams to select quality candidates for the CSF Advisor, Associate Advisor and Sales Manager roles. They provide selection expertise as it relates to risk management in the areas of previous employment, work permits, criminal and financial history.
They ensure a set of pre-determined selection requirements are met during the selection process, document all material related to CSF selection processes for audit and legal purposes and communicate to managers the decision to proceed or de-select potential applicants. They supporting the Career Sales Force referral programs, Recruiting Campaigns, Coordination of Career Fairs and other impromptu recruiting efforts.
The key component to this role is the ability to multi-task and assess priorities accordingly. Thorough understanding of how the Career Sales Force operates and how the recruiting and retention functions contribute to the overal growth and productivity strategy of the CSF. Good understanding of the Canadian credit sytem including how credit bureaus operate, credit report scores/content, bankruptcy and consumer proposals and discharge rules. Good understanding of the Canadian criminal system, including different levels of infractions, how convictions and fines are conferred and how pardons are applied for. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Needs to consider the audience, anticipate expected reaction to communications/messages, communicate clearly aligning messages to strategies and not just processes, and choose appropriate communication vehicles for the situation (e.g. email vs. phone vs. face-to-face).
Experience working with confidential and sensitive information such that they can understand, appreciate and demontrate the value/need for confidentiality
Good understanding of privacy legislation
Must have a passionate focus on customer service and relationship building such that they can understand and demonstrate the value of building positive relationships in order to inluence positive behaviours and desired outcomes
Must appreciate the value of and demonstrate the ability to diligently follow process with a keen attention to detail as this work is regularly audited
Ability to work in a high profile environment with tight timelines
Demonstrate a sense of urgency and commitment to meeting deadlines
Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Good understanding of social media and how it can be leveraged for recruiting purposes. Familiarity with LinkedIn, FaceBook, Twitter etc.
Familiarity with the Anti Spam Act
Technical aptitude (PowerPoint, Microsoft Word and Excel)
Knowledge of CSF selection process
Compliance or licensing knowledge
Jobs at this level requires thinking within clear but substantially diversified procedures. Work entails differing situations requiring search for solutions within area of known things
Using pre defined selection criteria, consultants validate and approve the advisor applications. In cases where an assessment test is negative, the consultant may need negotiate with a manager to approve the application. Negotiation / consultation always addresses the question of whether an application should be approved or de-selected in the process

Jobs at this level understand customer needs and identify solutions to non standard request with assistance from others as needed. Routine client contact includes more in-depth policy interpretation and somewhat complex problem solutions
Works with managers to identify why an advisor application should be processed as an exception which requires understanding customer needs and identifying possible solutions
Works with managers by supporting the Career Sales Force referral programs, Recruiting Campaigns, Coordination of Career Fairs and other impromptu recruiting
Jobs at this level are subject to practices and procedures covered by precendents or well defined policy
Consultants validate and approve (or de-select) advisor applications based on pre defined selection criteria
Exception cases are escalated to Manager/Director level for decision to proceed or de-select
