Role Mandate:
Provides support to the Buyer in driving overall performance of their merchandise department/categories for all Hbc banners and any other activity
Liaise with internal and external partners to ensure seamless integration and execution of Merchandising strategies
Key Accountabilities:
Works with Buyers to develop product/category knowledge of significant merchandise trends and ideas; and provides input
Understands departmental/category assortment plan strategy and how it supports each Hbc banner value proposition
Responsible for the completion of the following activities as requested:
Retek (item/sku)creation and maintenance as required
Input of promotions to Retek
Input price changes and markdowns
Action UPC Problem Log
Action TAG alert correction
Prepares and analyzes merchandise product performance data to support buyers in adherence to merchandise calendar activities and timelines
Works with Planners to develop in-season analysis and review recommendations and tactics with Buyer
Works with internal and external partners to ensure effect purchase order execution
Provides day to day vendor interface support
Account/sales vendor interaction
Future business opportunities
Product opportunities and performance
Promo Event Management: Creates promotional information and executes promotional calendar
Manages samples process for Marketing & Advertising
Accountable for the integrity of product information
Packaging & product development
Detailed sku creation
Accountable for maintaining business knowledge of merchandise area of responsibility
Accountable for adhering to company-approved tools and processes to support planning, analysis and measurement of business.
Key Partnerships: Hbc Merchandising Planning and Analysis:
Works with Planning Manager to develop in-season analysis and performance adjustments as per Buyer’s direction
Stores:
Liaises with store RMM/DMM’s to ensure appropriate assortment and timing, relevant to the local trading area.
Hbc Marketing:
Coordinates with Marketing regarding advertising samples and photo shoots
Hbc Supply Chain/ Replenishment:
Provide data integrity & clear requests to the merchandising pools
In-Store Marketing:
Provides ISM with fashion flow/plan-o-gram or PO Worksheet, and executes STP input and maintenance.
Position Must Haves:
1-2 years related experience in retail buying.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Keen attention to detail.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Able to establish relationships with internal and external partners.
Must be able to Problem solve, make decisions, think critically and analytically.
Must be able to complete job tasks in a timely and organized manner.
Proficient in Microsoft office applications.
