The Canadian
Youth Business Foundation (CYBF) is the ‘go to’ place for youth
entrepreneurship. As a national charity, we are dedicated to growing our
nation’s economy one young entrepreneur at a time. We look at character not
collateral, when providing youth, age 18-34, with pre-launch coaching, business
resources, start-up financing and mentoring, to help them launch and sustain a
successful entrepreneurial business.

Founded in 1996,
CYBF has invested to date in more than 3,700 young entrepreneurs, whose
businesses have created more than 17,100 new jobs, $106 million in tax revenue
and hundreds of millions of dollars in sales and export revenue. CYBF delivers
its program coast to coast through a national network of more than 150
community partners and 3,300 volunteers including business mentors. Information

The Opportunity: CYBF is currently looking for a
dynamic individual to join our regional team as the Vice President, Regional
Operations. The position will be located
out of CYBF National Office in Toronto and require some travel in Canada.

The VP, Regional
Operations will provide leadership, motivation and training to our regional
field teams. This critical position will report to the COO and be the field
champion for all of CYBF’s regional operations. S/he will build a sales and
relationship management culture and is the functional leader for all regional
teams, and specifically for 7 Regional Directors as well as their team members.
The VP, Regional Operations will be accountable for developing and motivating a
results-oriented field team who can deliver to objectives by managing the
practical application and implementation of all CYBF programs including
start-up succession and expansion financing, mentoring, and other new programs
as they are developed. The successful candidate will take ownership for
achieving annual and long-term start-up, mentoring, write-off and other goals
for CYBF. This individual will also ensure that all current and new programs
are fully integrated into field operations and that full procedures are
documented and adhered to in order to support quality and risk standards. As a
member of the senior management team, the VP, Regional Operations will also
contribute to the organization’s strategic direction, act as an advisor to the
various organizational teams and also ensure appropriate communication flow of
information to and from the field team. The
successful candidate must have experience in small business lending, and strong
knowledge of the credit adjudication process.

Key
Responsibilities

With the Senior Management team, and in conjunction with
targets outlined in CYBF’s strategic and annual plans, develop and oversee
the execution of the annual strategies to achieve and exceed regional and
organizational start-up targets Maintain/develop a strong CYBF
program in the GTA which will require travel within the region Develop alliances with other organizations,
such as mentorship and youth organizations Promote CYBF programs and services to all
potential sponsors, partners and clients Develop and oversee field operating standards and operating
procedures Understand and evaluate CYBF’s delivery model and make
recommendations for continuous improvement as required With the regional teams, provide oversight of the development
and execution of the regional sales and marketing plans Assist with the overall management of delinquent accounts along
with the non-performing portfolio Help lead the ongoing development and training of the field
team in the move to a CRM model and portfolio management culture to ensure
that full knowledge of the portfolio is achieved and relationships are
well defined and managed Demonstrate an understanding of the operational and business
challenges faced by the various regional markets and proven ability to
develop and deliver complex solutions to help under-performing markets
build to success Provide direction and guidance on regional fundraising
initiatives in conjunction with the National Revenue Development Team Manage Regional and team Directors through coaching mentoring
and performance evaluations to increase success Provide best practice in account relationship management
processes, including account planning and reviews, executive coverage,
customer satisfaction and profitable contracts. Demonstrate leadership,
team building, proven sales and/or sales management performance, executive
relationship skills, ability to develop and implement sales and marketing
plans to achieve business growth with existing and new clients within
accounts Encourage and develop functional Directors to foster leadership
in and become known as regional experts on entrepreneurship in their markets Oversee regional and departmental budgets Work with regional teams to develop content and plan community
partner conferences; Troubleshoot and provide support to meet plan Encourage
reporting managers to evaluate and take actions that are consistent with
CYBF’s overall strategy which will lead to high performance Challenge
basic assumptions underlying each team's operations. Act as a sounding
board and resource for people managers Build an
organizational culture in which performance matters by communicating
rewards/consequences Conduct
regular meetings with field team directors to negotiate operational
objectives, deadlines and performance goals Work with
COO on recommended updates and/or changes to credit risk and adjudication
policies Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
and Experience

Minimum 10 years progressive experience in sales roles Proven
sales and customer relationship management skills Financial
background, small business lending, and knowledge of the credit risk
adjudication process is required. Proven ability to self-manage, manage a team and achieve/exceed
results Strong leader with business acumen, negotiations skills and the
ability to influence Knowledge
of basic CYBF programs and project management Confident,
proactive and self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision Shares
ideas/successes with team members Demonstrated ability to build professional relationships with
diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders and a background in
managing a portfolio of high values customers Maturity to interface and deal with senior executives and
Government Officials. Demonstrated skill in preparing and executing regional growth
and penetration plans

Ability to analyze financial priorities and influence customers
to take appropriate measures to meet their needs Economic
development experience Knowledge
of issues surrounding organizations, communities and schools Ability
to work with volunteers Excellent
interpersonal and communications skills General
administration experience including budget management, report writing,
etc… Ability
to make public presentations Ability
to read and understand business plans Extensive
working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the Internet Bilingual
(English/French) an asset ***Must
have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle and be willing to
travel in Canada
