This role is a professional member of accounting and finance team that supports the Retail location through budget and forecast preparation, timely accurate financial reporting and corresponding analysis and recommendations. This position manages the location's Accounting Team on a day-to-day basis, implements/ensures corporate practices are adhered to and partners with the Operations and Sales Management to protect and grow the assets of the business.
Accountabilties:
Directly supervises Accounting and clerical staff in the retail location.
Works closely with the Operations and Sales leadership to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial statements and ensuring controls are in place to protect/grow the business of assigned location.
Accounting and administration for the branch including but not limited to: AP, AR, HR, payroll, cash, collection, inventory, job costing, taxes, statutory reporting.
Deliver accurately and timely key business metrics
Prioritize and manage time effectively for self and team.
Implement and insure finance policy compliance including but not limited to capitalization of assets, revenue recognition, balance sheet reconciliations and month end financial statement preparation
Facilitate audit requests from Corporate Finance for external auditors.
Implement controls and testing/monitoring including but not limited to procurement approvals, inventory testing (including counts and obsolescence), operating and payroll disbursements such as usage of cash and equivalent.
Analyze performance and make recommendations to General Manager and Finance team
Collecting, maintaining and archiving documents, integrity of financial information and systems.
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting and 3 years of accounting management experience.
CGA / CMA designation or advanced progression towards designation preferred.
Must have excellent verbal and written skills and be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
Strong service business background preferred.
Manufacturing, construction, inventory and job cost accounting a plus
Professional user of accounting systems (AP,AR, GL, Inventory) and proficiency Excel
Meets deadlines with a sense of urgency
Focuses on detail with accuracy
