AMEC’s Earth & Environmental division is recruiting for a Junior - Intermediate Environmental Engineer/Scientist who is a motivated team player. The position will be based in Mississauga, Ontario. Responsibilities:
In this position, you will work with a team of professionals, focusing primarily on environmental aspects for mining projects, with exposure to power and infrastructure projects. You will provide consulting services in the areas of environmental evaluations, permitting/approvals, environmental baseline studies, closure plans, and public consultation for large scale projects. Specific duties will include data analysis/ interpretation, assistance with report/proposal preparation, and liaising with other disciplines. You will work under the direction of a Senior Engineer or Project Manager and may manage Tasks or Phases of larger projects. This position is intended to stream you into our Certified Project Manager role.
Requirements:
A Bachelor degree in Environmental Engineering, Science or related discipline
2 - 5 years of environmental consulting experience or equivalent
Knowledge of industrial processes, waste water treatment systems and inorganic chemistry is an asset
Desire to provide high quality support to senior staff and a commitment to technical excellence
Excellent oral and written communication (English) and time management skills needed
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required
Knowledge of Ontario’s environmental legislation and regulations, ideally in support of natural resource industries (i.e., mining, power or forestry industries)
Project management or project coordination skills are an asset
