Role Summary:
The Vignette senior designer has end to end ownership of the SLF Vignette environment, design of business solutions, underlying infrastructure, and the product roadmap. Working with the account manager, delivery manager and other senior application designers, this role is responsible for providing technical leadership and ensures the proposed solutions align with the defined Vignette design patterns and roadmap.
Main Accountabilities:
Definition and implementation of Vignette design patterns and roadmap
Working with the release manager, facilitate the deployment of both business and technical driven enhancement to the Vignette environment
Working with other Vignette technical leads respond to requests & inquires from business partners
Recommendation of business solutions using Vignette product suite and perform review the detailed designs
Implementation of performance monitoring and tuning processes
Initiation of technical and process improvements
Management of infrastructure & capacity planning
Review and enhancements of deployment and change management processes for Vignette environment
Maintain a strong understanding of industry and enterprise-wide trends
Maintain a close working relationship with vendor (OpenText) to understand product features

Strong documentation skills
Technical Skills:
Extensive experience with entire life-cycle development of web platform using Vignette or other CMS
Hands-on experience in design, development of CMS solutions and its deployment in a clustered and HA environment
Ability to conduct systems requirement analysis and system design supporting enterprise level applications
Expertise in multiple technology platforms/languages such as Java, J2EE, Weblogic or equivalent application server and unix environments
Web Technologies: Java/J2EE,Servlet,JSP,JDBC,Web Services,JavaScript, AJAX, HTML,XML,XSL,CSS,RSS
App/Web Server: Weblogic, Apache, JBOSS, Tomcat
Databases: Oracle, MS SQL
Configuration/Version Control: PVCS Dimensions
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required
Notes / Unique Requirements:
Some travel required between Toronto and Waterloo offices
