Brief Job Description
Transportation Options is non profit organization looking for a dynamic individual to coordinate the Welcome Cyclists Network and assist with other related projects. The Welcome Cyclists Network is a growing provincial program which would offer the selected candidate an opportunity to utilize a variety of work skills, learn new ones and add their own creativity to the position in order to get the job done. Ontario travel or tourism knowledge and experience as a cyclist are additional qualifications. There may be an option to extend this six month contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Welcome Cyclists Network workshops
  • Provide Welcome Cyclists program support to participating locations
  • Assist with updating Welcome Cyclists website and database management
  • Provide customer support and answer Welcome Cyclists Network & Bike Train inquiries
  • Assist with developing and delivering creative marketing campaigns and publications
  • Coordinate/assist with preparation for and attendance at a variety of promotional events
  • Assist with stakeholder relations and communications to industry partners and participants
  • Assist with funding proposals and reporting
  • Collaborate on delivery of new projects
  • Assist with and provide administrative and other support as required

Key Qualifications

  • Experience within the tourism, cycling, environmental, sustainable transportation and/or non-profit sectors
  • Experience coordinating events and promotions
  • Capable of creating and delivering presentations
  • Some experience in partnership development
  • Ability to adapt and multi-task
  • Time management skills and ability to work to deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience working with various partners
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective planning and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Travel knowledge of Ontario
  • Experience as a recreational cyclist

Key Skills

  • Excellent computer skills including excel, word, power-point and familiarity with CMS Joomla. Knowledge of Adobe CS5 an asset
  • Project management skills
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Event management skills

Duration: March 25/April 1 – September 27 (6 months) – possible extension
Work hours: 4 days a week
Hourly contract rate: $20-$25 per hour
Location: Toronto, near Coxwell & Danforth TTC
