The Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre & Spa is looking to hire an Event Planning Co-op Student/Volunteer to assist in planning an Art Show within the hotel. This is an unpaid position, and would be ideal for a student/volunteer wanting to build their portfolio and gain some great event planning experience.
The Art Show will be hosted this Fall 2013 (September or October). The candidate will be responsible for assisting with the planning and execution of the event, alongside the Vice President, Catering, Sales, and Spa Departments. The candidate will also be responsible for advertising the event via social media.
Self-starter, motivated to succeed and has a ‘can do’ attitude
Knowledgeable about the event planning industry
Experience in event planning preferred
Effective organizational, planning and creativity skills are essential
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work well under pressure
Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
Knowledgeable about Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Shift required: 3-4 days per week, flexible hours
