Our Red Crow studio, located in beautiful Charlottetown, is seeking a Senior Designer to contribute to our growing team.
Candidates for this role should be proactive problem solvers, able to work effectively with minimal supervision and be willing to work with and take direction from the Lead Designer and Producer. They must also be willing to support junior designers and past experience of leading junior designers on released titles is a must.
To take on and own areas of the design while working collaboratively with team members and key stakeholders to create world-class design specifications for mobile platforms.
To actively support and mentor junior designers.
Partnering with the Product Manager to learn from metrics analysis and apply those lessons to develop designs that improve the overall quality of the game.
Research and knowledge of the IP.
Creative writing, including dialogue.
Mechanics design (including extending / improving existing mechanics).
Game and economy balancing.
To stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to ensure EA branded games are of high quality and competitive in the Casual Games space.
5+ years game design experience with three or more in the social / mobile space.
Professional experience with MSOffice (Word / Excel / Visio, etc.) or similar.
Able to communicate clearly and concisely in both written form as well as verbally.
Ability to accurately estimate work load and make smart tradeoffs between quality and time.
Experience leading and mentoring junior designers.
A good knowledge of social and monetization in mobile games.
Experience in creative writing as well as a strong background in game mechanics and balancing.
Able to show examples of previous design work.
Previous professional game experience in programming, art or audio is a plus.
