Project Manager – Restoration Company

SUMMARY:
The Project Manager is the leader of a two person team, (along with the Assistant Project Manager) and is responsible for the successful completion of various restoration projects that are caused by fire, smoke, wind, storms, water and mold. The Project Manager goes out and meets homeowners, prepares estimates for insurance claims to restore the property back to its pre-loss state then oversees the Project Manager Assistant, employees, and subcontractors on completing the job in a timely and cost efficient manner.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management

  • Perform Site inspections
  • Create, edit, modify and submit estimates
  • Communicate with home and business owners, insurance adjusters, and sub-contractors
  • Manage Assistant Project Managers, sub-contractors and employees in successfully completing projects in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Oversee and direct employees and subcontractors on performing job tasks
  • Manage and take responsibility for all aspects of projects from beginning to end.
  • Meet profit goals on each job
  • Assess and implement repairs to structures from start to finish
  • Available for and ability to respond to 24 hour emergency restoration and mitigation calls
  • Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope
  • Review deliverables prepared by team before passing to client
  • Effectively apply our methodology and enforce project standards
  • Prepare for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures
  • Minimize our exposure and risk on a project
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately

Project Accounting

  • Track and report team hours and expenses on a weekly basis
  • Manage project budget
  • Determine appropriate revenue recognition, ensure timely and accurate invoicing and monitor receivables for project
  • Follow up with clients, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices
  • Analyze project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization

Financial Management

  • Understand basic revenue models, P/L, and cost-to-completion projections and make decisions accordingly
  • Understand our pricing model and billing procedures
  • Accurately forecast revenue, profitability, margins, bill rates and utilization
  • Assure project legal documents are completed and signed

Business Development

  • Identify business development and “add-on” sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project
  • Lead proposal efforts including completing project scoping and LOE assessments
  • Effectively convey our message in both written and verbal business development discussions

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge
 5 years construction Project Management/Supervisory experience
 Minimum High School Diploma with knowledge of provincial building codes – some post-secondary helpful
 Knowledge and experience using MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel
 Knowledge and experience using Chronicle an asset
 Knowledgeable about the principles, methods, and practices within the contents job duties
 Valid class 5 B.C. driver’s license with a clean driving record

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
Commission based with expected income from $55-100k+
Monthly car allowance, extended medical benefits, company phone, laptop
