HIV/AIDS Drug Treatment Program

STATUS: This is a one-year contract position with potential for extension (Maternity Leave Replacement)

JOB START DATE: May 1, 2013

SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

LOCATION: BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS (BC-CfE), Vancouver, BC

JOB: Acts as a Data Analyst for the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS, Drug Treatment Program

ORGANIZATION: The BC-CfE currently employs a team of statisticians, programmers, data managers, and data entry clerks who work collaboratively on cohort-based epidemiological and clinical studies.


  • Data preparation
  • Report preparation and distribution
  • Coordination with Lead Program Analyst, Statisticians and Data Clerks
  • Liaise with Team Leader, Director of Operations and others as necessary
  • Other responsibilities as required


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or Medical Health Information or equivalent qualifications
  • Oracle or SAS programming experience required
  • Undergraduate or graduate coursework in statistics, data analysis, research methods
  • Experience in data analysis, decision support, including demonstrated proficiency with analytical software
  • Experience in Pharmacoepidemiology and statistical analysis will be an asset
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
