The Art Gallery of Sudbury/Galerie d’art de Sudbury is looking for a Gallery Attendant. The position will fill various needs within our organization; facilitate the exhibition information, surveillance of the gallery space, assisting with the gallery shop, art rental and sales program and operations. This position is instrumental in making the AGS/GAS welcoming and a supportive environment for the community and visitors to experience and enjoy art. The successful candidate will gain skills working with the public, providing information to our visitors and handling a multitude of tasks pertaining to a gallery setting. This versatile position will give the candidate confidence in working in a gallery setting, giving them a rich experience and a variety of job skills that can be applied to a variety of situations.
Minimum Education: Grade 12 high school diploma
Minimum Experience: 3 to- 12 months of related experience
Special Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills in both official languages.
Cash Register Experience
Ability to take initiative and demonstrate a flexible approach in responding to needs
as they arise.
Good organizational skills, attention to detail and follow-through
Ability to prioritize and multi-task
A team player and people person with the ability to work independently as required
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Including: Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and internet
applications such as web-browsers and email
Familiarity with PC computers platforms
Hours: 24 hrs per week
