RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Develop and assist in and maintaining on-time execution of vendor-ready tech packs, including Technical sketches, fabrics and trims, construction details, measurement charts and graded specifications.
  • Review TOP samples and communicate Styling and workmanship QC issues with factories.
  • Communicate daily with factories and sourcing office in Asia to ensure execution of tech packs to meet brands quality, construction and fit requirements.
  • Work with the team on fit sessions. Assist team with communicating fit corrections after fittings as necessary and solve where needed.
  • Maintain deadlines and assist with all development, Lab dips, trims, raw materials, fits, confirmation samples and Q.A audits throughout the product development process in coordination with the development calendar.
  • Develop ( if required ) and ensure timely testing and approvals for trims, labels, artwork and packaging.
  • Review TOP samples and communicate Styling and workmanship QC issues with factories.
  • Maintain library of approved samples and patterns.
  • Attend weekly team and other meetings as required
  • Assist with other duties as required in everyday operation of the design department .

REQUIREMENTS :

  • A Degree in apparel / Fashion design, textiles or similar
  • Extensive knowledge of software tools as required Adobe ( Illustrator, PS) and Microsoft Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, Access). Ability to develop detailed Tech packs / technical sketches.
  • 1-2 years experience in design of apparel is preferred (Outerwear / Sportswear knowledge will be a benefit)
  • Team player who works well under pressure in a small, fast, entrepreneurial team environment.
  • Knowledge of Garment construction, Pattern making, Fitting and manufacturing
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to manage multiple projects and details.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy, and proactively seeks confirmation when unsure.
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal – with offshore factories, vendors l with whom you will email and video conference often.
  • World-class customer service frame of mind – urgent, high-quality, decisive and proactive.
  • Must be available to work standard business hours (40hrs/week) in the Richmond Hill, Office.
  • Must be available to work occasional off-hours due to global nature of communications.
