Guest Service Department Manager
Guest Service Manager (Current Employee) – Ames, IA – 8 May 2017
A typical day at work would be running a shift, either breakfast, lunch or dinner, depending on the day. I would assist other managers on the floor either before or after my shift. After running my shift, I would count drawers, wasted food, and review my shift and the one for the next day. I would help managers enforce policies on the floor and help train crew members.
I learned a lot about customer service and personal responsibility at McDonald's. I also learned a lot about employee interactions, how to manage employees and navigate sensitive situations with them and make sure they were all comfortable and enjoying their work experience.
Workplace culture at McDonald's is good. I have a great relationship with my boss and other coworkers. We all get along and respect each other.
The hardest part of the job is the extremely high paced environment and, on occasion, low staff. It is an extremely high pressured environment.
The most enjoyable part of the job, for me, was working with my boss, my other coworkers, and learning everything I did about customer service.
Health insurance, breaks, free lunches, raises
High pressured environment, low staffing
