We are currently hiring for a Sr. Claims Specialist for our Western Casualty Claims department.

Summary:
Examining, evaluating and negotiating settlement of bodily injury and commercial casualty files, including CGL, general liability and motor vehicle in accordance with corporate guidelines with major emphasis on direct negotiation with Plaintiff's counsel.

Responsibilities:
Assess coverage, examine and direct Bodily Injury, General Liability and Litigation claims and apply claims service requirements.
Control indemnity and expenses through proactive claims handling techniques.
Evaluate and establish accurate reserves and appropriate diary systems, utilizing InjuryManager system.
Regular review of file strategy disposition plans, recommending alternatives for timely resolution.Active participation in mediations, settlement conferences, mini-trials and JDRs.
Complete Large Loss and Head Office reports in an accurate and timely fashion.
Maintain current knowledge of legislation and legal trends.
Participate in Branch Audits and other assigned projects
EXPERIENCE/Skills REQUIRED

6+ years experience in BI or PD casualty claims adjusting
Strong knowledge of litigation process.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong knowledge of mediation process and experience with same.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Solid PC skills EXPERIENCE/SKILLS PREFERRED

Knowledge of Teleglobe operating system.
Proficiency in Microsoft office and Lotus Notes applications.
Previous commercial claims handling experience.
