The People Bank is currently looking for a Health and Safety Specialist for their client who has been in the mining industry for over 100 years.

Description:
The chosen candidate will be reporting directly to the area manager - health, safety and training.

The successful candidates key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Facilitating and administering a comprehensive health and safety management program across all levels of the company. Participating in regular JOHSC meetings. Conducting regular safety inspections and taking corrective actions as needed. Conducting follow ups with coordinators on accident and claims investigations and following through on corrective actions and root cause analysis. Providing guidance to employees and management through training, consultation and implementation of Health and Safety policies.

Requirements

The chosen candidate will have: A diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field from a recognized post secondary institution. achieved or be working toward a CRSP Three to Five years experience in a Health and Safety or related role. Ability to work independently and in a team setting. Good oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office and other computer programs will be considered an asset
