Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day safe and efficient supervision and execution of the I&E department’s preventative, routine and immediate maintenance requirements. This role is usually more instrumentation focused.
As a First Line Supervisor your success is measured by the success of your team. You are responsible for leading your team in the optimization of your area of maintenance responsibility. This must be done in a safe, efficient and environmentally responsible manner. The direction you set must be consistent with and supportive of business unit goals/objectives, corporate strategies, and Agrium’s Formula for Success, which provides guidance for our conduct and behavior.
Specific Responsibilities Will Include:
Ensuring safe and efficient work practices (people, work processes and practices);
Developing plans to maintain / increase equipment reliability;
Monitoring PM / PDM compliance;
Understanding and promoting Agrium’s Manufacturing Excellence key practices;
Develop and maintain proper plant documentation related to these trades;
Key Interface for team with other Supervisors, Project Engineers, Materials Management, Planning, Operations, and others;
Completes annual performance reviews for all direct reports;
Keep management appraised of unit status;
Provides coverage for other maintenance supervisors or the superintendent ;
Mentor maintenance personnel within the team;
Assures high level of housekeeping standards are maintained;
Assures maintenance business processes are followed to department standards.
Qualifications of the Position Include:
High School Diploma;
Journeyman provincial or inter-provincial ticket in Instrumentation or Electrical, Technologist Diploma, or Engineering Degree. Role is 2/3 rd instrumentation focused;
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to lead a team, delegate work and motivate direct reports;
Solid understanding in planning and scheduling maintenance work;
Computer skills including SAP knowledge;
Solid understanding of maintenance practices and processes.
