University degree in Accounting or Finance
Professional designation
– CA, CGA, or CMA
A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
Strong technical accounting and research skills are required, along with the ability and desire to use these skills to think creatively in structuring transactions while ensuring compliance with IFRS
A demonstrated ability to adapt to change and re-engineer processes.
Very strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey key elements in a concise and positive manner
Ability to effectively lead, manage and reprioritize multiple projects and competing priorities, while effectively operating in a fast-paced and growing organization
Detail-oriented
Previous supervisory experience
Strong computer skills with knowledge of financial systems and software
Responsibilities
Drives timely preparation and review of financial filings, including Annual and Interim Consolidated Financial Statements and Notes
Assist in drafting quarterly Management Discussion & Analysis, press releases, earnings documents, Annual Report, and related materials required by investor relations
Drive timely preparation and review of monthly consolidated results, including balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, and related materials required by internal management
Provides IFRS technical accounting research and analysis; oversees the review and interpretation of new and proposed accounting regulations
Assist in special projects related to financial reporting and other issues as they become necessary (e.g., acquisitions, new policies, new business transactions, training initiatives, etc.)
Identify improvements to the accounting and reporting process and assist in their implementation
Key point of contact for external auditors
Direct supervision of financial analysts
