Our federal government client is seeking Privacy Impact Assessment Consultants to provide services on an as required basis. Under the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's "Directive on Privacy Impact Assessment" (effective April 1, 2010) government departments must conduct a PIA in a manner that is commensurate with the level of privacy risk identified, before establishing any new or substantially modified program or activity involving personal information.
Role and Responsibilities
Determine the scope and approach of the assessment, identify resource requirements and develop a realistic work plan;
Work closely with the Project Authority, the Technical Authority, legal services, the ATIP division, security officials and program or information technology managers;
In the preparation phase, the PIA Consultant will complete a PIA Project Charter and a Work Plan;
When the PIA Work Plan has been approved by the Project Authority, the consultant shall develop the Privacy Impact Assessment mandatory deliverable as specified by TBS.
Qualifications and Experience
Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience leading the development of PIA's within the last 7 years;
Must provide two client project references that demonstrate that the consultant has worked on PIA projects as a Senior PIA Consultant.
