Responsibilities:
The Winnipeg office is a well-established and well run team of professionals focused on the buildings practice, water, infrastructure and transportation engineering and environmental services. Currently we have an opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer to work closely with our Architectural clients and multi-disciplinary professionals and technologists in our Buildings consulting and design practice.
This opportunity will be of interest to an experienced Structural Engineer who is able to use his/her innovative design expertise and market sense in collaboration with architectural and buildings clients and mentor a talented team of junior engineers and technologists.
The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of interesting architectural projects such as educational, institutional and commercial buildings and the delivery of services to our clients.
Key responsibilities will include:
Provide structural design expertise and management of projects either as part of a project team or independently and coordinate with other disciplines in achieving the design solutions
Manage the project budget, schedule and resources
Multi-disciplinary coordination and client/project design team consultation
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess:
Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering with a minimum of 15+ years of post-graduation experience in a design and project management of buildings
Must have experience with architectural projects such as institutional, commercial projects; consulting engineering experience and work with architects and contractors
Be pragmatic and have a keen interest in working with multi-disciplinary design professionals including engineering disciplines and architects and interior designers
Proven ability to deliver a wide variety of project scopes on time and budget
Working knowledge of computer programs and web-based applications, including RAM, STAAD, SAFE and ETABS
Strong leadership ability, effective interpersonal communication and team skills are essential
