The new Manager, By-Law and Licensing Services will join the collaborative and inclusive team that serves the more than 484,000 residents that live in Surrey, the fastest growing and most diverse city in the region. Reporting to the City Solicitor, the Manager, By-Law and Licensing Services performs supervisory, developmental and regulatory work relating to the enforcement and inspection functions performed by By-Law Officers. The Manager builds effective programs/initiatives and constructive community relationships in support of Council directions, key City objectives, residents’ service needs, and community best practices. The ideal candidate will be an inclusive and service orientated leader with a minimum of ten years of progressive, relevant work experience. S/he will have management experience in a union setting, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, and a collaborative, community-centered leadership style. The successful applicant will be able to move a complex range of stakeholders forward in a solution based, flexible manner. A Bachelor degree in business administration or in a related field is preferred. Successful applicants being considered for this position must obtain a Reliability Security Clearance with the RCMP Surrey Detachment prior to commencing work within the City of Surrey.
