Practice Support Licensed Practical Nurse

Reporting to the Manager or designate, working independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Practice Support Licensed Practical Nurse ensures quality of care by supporting and directing the practice of Community Health Workers, performs routine community visits, working collaboratively with staff and the other care professionals involved in the provision of client care. The Practice Support Licensed Practical Nurse operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia (CLPNBC) and according to Home & Community Care Program operating policies, standards and protocols.
Qualifications
A. Education, Training and Experience
Graduate of a recognized practical nursing program or equivalent. Current, full licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia (CLPNBC). Two (2) years recent, related experience. Knowledge of the skills, policies and procedures for Home Support Services. Basic Life Support, Level "C" certificate. Valid BC drivers license.
B. Skills and Abilities
Demonstrate knowledge and competencies to work at full scope of practice as currently required by the CLPNBC, including administering medications.
Provide direction and practice evaluation.

Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Charting and writing concise reports.
