Focus Corporation is a multidiscipline engineering, geomatics and planning consulting firm with offices in major centers throughout Western Canada. We are currently seeking an Claims Manager to join our Edmonton Finance team.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:
Manage the administration and resolution of all professional liability related insurance claims
Provide guidance and assistance to project managers with respect to claims form submission
Use sound judgement to provide recommendations regarding claim validity
Use sound judgement to assess the value and financial exposure of claims
Coordinate and attend claims settlement meetings with claimants and insurer representatives
Provide reports to internal stakeholders regarding the value, status and progress of active claims
Use your technical background to work with stakeholders to recommend cost efficient remedial action plans
Use your negotiation skills to ensure appropriate allocation of the proportionate share of damages between contributing parties
Use your technical background and experience to identify professional liability loss exposures
Recommend and work with internal stakeholders to implement effective loss prevention and loss reduction measures

Requirements

As the successful candidate, you will:
Have a minimum of 5 years of claims management or loss adjusting experience
Possess technical knowledge and familiarity of the Engineering or Geomatics disciplines
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
