The primary role of the Instructional Designer is to design, develop, and maintain instructional materials for several roles within our Great-West Life Group Health and Dental claims payment offices. This individual will determine learning objectives and design training materials (trainer guides, trainee materials, lessons plans, and evaluation materials) to meet key objectives.
Accountabilities
:
Conduct training needs analysis through reporting and feedback from the trainers, the Benefit Payment Office managers and other head office areas.
Perform research ensuring the content of the training material required is accurate and current. Collaborate with other subject matter experts within the Group Health and Dental department.
Develop and deliver training material in accordance with accepted Adult Education practices and principles.
Set goals and ensure material is complete by the deadline assigned.
Validate training material ensuring the message is being interpreted effectively.
Obtain feedback on material through surveys to determine the clarity and effectiveness of the material.
Ensure changes in policy and process are reflected in the training manuals in a timely manner to maintain accuracy in claim adjudication.
Support and make training recommendations to leaders and trainers in the Benefit Payment Offices across Canada. Educate trainers on how to use the material that has been created.
Qualifications and Competencies
:
Completion of post-secondary education; a combination of education and work experience will be considered.
Preferred experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access.
Web writing/authoring experience preferred.
Proficiency with Dreamweaver software an asset.
Bilingual in English and French considered an asset.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Solid organizational skills and adapt well to changing priorities in an environment with fluctuating work volumes.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
Minimum of 2 - 4 years claim adjudication experience in healthcare, routine and major dental claims is an asset.
