Assist with the supervision of the Don Mills Quality Control Department to ensure that quantitative and qualitative measures included in the operating plan are met;
Promotes a focus on operational excellence in all production activities;
Supports the training and development of employees;
Enhances a positive employee relations environment;
Assesses the compliance of raw materials, product in process and finished product for the purpose of deciding whether they should be authorized;
Conduct plant inspections and be a support for production, sanitation, and distribution issues;
Determine and carry out the action to be taken for non-compliance on finished product, ingredients and packaging;
Conduct follow-up investigations pertaining to non-compliant issues;
Makes certain the operation meets and exceeds quality, distribution and production guidelines as set by government standards and by internal Natrel requirements;
Maintains and supports HACCP system and related programs;
Performs other duties as required. Requirements
Three to five years' experience in quality control supervision, preferably in a unionized environment;
Bachelor's degree or College diploma in Engineering or Science in a food-related field (e.g. dairy science, food science, microbiology) or equivalent combination education and experience;
Experience in a dairy facility is an asset;
Knowledge of HACCP program, GMPs, and health and safety rules and regulations;
Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership skills and the ability to work in a team;
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities;
Analytical mindset, well organized, thorough and detail-oriented;
Excellent problem solving (Root Cause Analysis) abilities and a proactive approach;
Computer literacy, ideally with MS Office (Word and Excel), and Lotus Notes;
