Head of Division, Pediatric Dentistry

The School of Dentistry is seeking applications for a full time tenured faculty position in Pediatric Dentistry at the level of Associate or Full Professor. The successful candidate will be the Head of the Division of Pediatric Dentistry and will be responsible for leading the development, establishment and growth of a Graduate Specialty Program in Pediatric Dentistry. The successful candidate will have the exciting opportunity to build a new program, upgrade existing curriculum and teaching methods, foster strong relationships in the pediatric community and provide mentorship to staff and students. Along with clinical and didactic teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining an active research program, for which start-up funds will be available. Time allocation for private practice will be integrated into this appointment.

The successful candidate will have graduated from an accredited specialty program and have relevant postgraduate and clinical qualifications in the specialty of pediatric dentistry or an equivalent level as specified by the Royal College of Dentists of Canada . Preference will be given to applicants who have a PhD combined with an established record of externally funded research and who have demonstrated experience integrating the required clinical, research, education, and administration functions. Academic rank and salary will be based on the applicant’s qualifications, experience, and achievements.

The successful incumbent will join a leading School of Dentistry and be part of the development of a Pediatric Dentistry Specialty Program. In alignment with the Faculty, the School of Dentistry is focused on building its overall research capacity with the goal of offering a world-class Pediatric Dentistry Program. The School of Dentistry has embarked on a five year academic plan that includes development of new clinical, research and teaching facilities along with staff recruitment, addition of new Graduate Clinical Specialty programs, such as the Pediatric Dentistry Specialty Program, and development of a research centre of excellence.
