This new mine site is located in the Yukon. It is a high grade zinc-silver-copper-lead-gold underground mine, with on-site milling capabilities of 1,700 tonnes per day to produce zinc, copper and lead concentrates. The mine life is 9.5 years and there is potential to expand the reserve through drilling. Mill commissioning commenced in 2010, and production in 2012 is increasing to design capacity.

This new mine creates an abundance of opportunity for the successful candidate. You will work closely with the Chief Metallurgist to optimise mineral extraction from a complex polymetallic ore (Cu, Pb, Zn). This will include liaising with the operations and maintenance team to achieve short term and long term production objectives. You will mentor plant metallurgists and technicians, and work as a team to develop and implement process plant operating strategies and improvement plans. You will also be required to prepare reports on plant performance, metallurgical project work and other detailed month end reports.

The successful candidate must have a BSc of Science in Metallurgical Engineer or equivalent. You must have 8 years experience in mineral processing plants with at least two years supervisory experience. Moreover, you must be fully committed to the company values of safety, integrity, respect, accountability, prosperity and collaboration.

This position offers an industry leading salary and a competitive package. It is a fly-in/fly-out mine operation, and the candidate will work on a rotational work schedule of 2 weeks in x 2 weeks out.
